رشد و تکامل پیش از تولد

رشد و تکامل پیش از تولد (به انگلیسی: Prenatal Development) (از ریشه لاتین natalis به معنای 'مرتبط با تولد' است) یا به اختصار تکامل پیش از تولد، شامل تکوین رویان و جنین طی آبستنی حیوانات زنده‌زاست. تکامل پیش از تولد، از لقاح، در مرحله رشد و نمو رویانی شروع شده و با تکامل جنین تا مرحله تولد ادامه می‌یابد.

در بارداری انسان،تکامل پیش از تولد را تکامل پیش‌زایشی یا antenatal (به جای prenatal) نیز می‌نامند. رشد و نمو رویان انسان پس از لقاح آغاز شده و با تکامل جنین ادامه می‌یابد. تا انتهای هفته دهم سن حاملگی (Gestational Age)، رویان به شکل پایه‌ای خود یا همان جنین رسیده‌است. دوره بعدی، شامل تکامل جنین است که بسیاری از اعضاء داخلی بدن کاملاً تکوین یافته‌اند. این دوره حیاتی، هم براساس اعضا توصیف شده‌اند و هم بر اساس ترتیب وقایع، به گونه‌ای که رویدادهای اصلی براساس سن حاملگی توصیف شده‌اند.

اولین مراحل رشد و تکامل رویانی، در تمام پستاندران یکسان است. اما مراحل بعدی برحسب آرایه (تاکسون) حیوانات و طول حاملگی متفاوت‌اند.
