کشتارهای جمعی در حکومت‌های کمونیستی
در حکومت‌های کمونیستی در قرن بیستم کشتارهای جمعی رخ داد که میزان تلفات آن‌ها بین ۸۵ تا ۱۰۰ میلیون تخمین زده می‌شود.[1] منابع علمی بر علل کشتارهای جمعی در یک جامعه تمرکز می‌کنند، گرچه برخی ادعاها در خصوص علل مشترک کشتارهای جمعی طرح شده‌است. بیشترین کشتارها در اتحاد جماهیر شوروی سوسیالیستی برهبری ژوزف استالین، در جمهوری خلق چین برهبریمائو تسه‌تونگ، و در کامبوج برهبری خمرهای سرخ رخ داده است.
