تبتل

تبتّل[1] زمانی است که شخص به‌طور داوطلبانه مجرد بماند یا پرهیز جنسی داشته باشد، یا هر دو، که این امر معمولاً به دلایل مذهبی انجام می‌گیرد.[2][3][4][5] تبتل اغلب در ارتباط با نقش یک مقام رسمی مذهبی یا باورمند است.[2]
